The Control Systems & Digital Solutions Department in Norway develops Control Systems, Software, Data Science applications, Electronics and Electrical Systems for a number of applications in various market segments. We are currently working on Electrification, Autonomous Solutions, Connected Products (IOT) and Digitalization for Norwegian and International customers. We are a team of 27 people today and we are looking to hire a senior and a junior Data Scientist.

Who are you?

You have a positive and proactive mindset with a background in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics or similar. You combine your strong analytical qualities with creativity and pragmatism. In addition, you are a committed colleague who is eager for results. Experience with programming and front- and/or back-end development in addition to model deployment and maintenance is an advantage. You also have a genuine interest for new technologies and a curious mindset. At Semcon, we work in diverse teams, and it is important that you are a team player and share your knowledge.

Your main responsibilities will be 

As a Data Scientist in Semcon you will be a part of a project team. Your main tasks and responsibility include aspects from the entire pipeline from establishing a system for data collection to deployment and maintenance of models. Semcon has a large variety in our project portfolio and the tasks will vary depending on the nature of the project. Programming tasks must also be expected.

Your qualifications and technological interest: 
Applicants that do not cover all qualifications, but are passionate about the field, are encouraged to apply.

• Good knowledge of databases and cloud applications (Azure)
• Hands-on experience in programming
• Good knowledge of relevant programming languages and frameworks (i.e. TensorFlow, Scikit learn, Pandas, MLflow, Python, JavaScript)
• Good understanding of machine learning algorithms (i.e. regression, segmentation, clustering, deep neural networks) 
• Good knowledge of the data science development process
